The IX Russian Festival of summer fashion "Plyos-on-Volga. Linen Palette"
Plyos-on-Volga is the small old Russian town that is unique not only due to its multi-century history, architecture, landscape, but also thanks to the traditions of flax production, jewelry, stitch-embroidery craft, fair trade, folk performances. Today Plyos is actively developing as one of the centers of Russian fashion, culture, recreation and tourism.
For the ninth consecutive year the festival "Plyos-on-Volga. Linen Palette" becomes an outstanding event in the cultural life of Russia. The festival is supported by the National Academy of fashion industry. The president of the festival is Vyacheslav Zaitsev, People's Painter of Russia, the laureate of the State Prize of Russia, academician.
The aim of the festival is to promote the development of the flax fashion industry, the establishment of international economic relations, the formation of the domestic market of the fashion industry.
The festival itinerary comprises the competition presentation of the collections of clothes made of linen, cotton, silk, flax yarn; the festival of children fashion theatres; Petrovskaya fair; the celebration of the City Day of Plyos; the gala show of works by fashion designers; exhibitions and rich cultural programme with excursions and boat trips.
