The Festival of Landscaped Objects "Archstoyanie"
"Archstoyanie" is the annual international festival of landscaped objects, it offers new approach to area development and implements the idea of interaction with the landscape by means of creative practices.
Richard Castelli (France), the director of the International Association of Artists Epidemic, is the festival curator in 2014.
The festival participants are known Russian and foreign architects, artists and designers. For each festival they create large-scale objects of art and architecture from natural materials such as wood, snow, hay, vines, etc. Some of the objects are functional. The most of the exhibits may interact with the audience – one may go inside them, climb on them or ride them.
During eight-year history of the festival on the territory of the village of Nikola-Lenivets 101 objects of art were erected. They have become the part of the landscape of Nikola-Lenivets (now the territory features 27 objects, including out-of-festival objects by the the festival founder the artist Nikolay Polissky) or were transferred to other areas.
