The All-Russia Lermontov Celebration of Poetry

9 - 15 october, 2014, Pyatigorsk


For the first time the celebration in Pyatigorsk was held in 1968 on the initiative of the State museum-reserve of M. Yu. Lermontov. In 2014 All-Russia Lermontov Celebration of Poetry is dedicated to the 200-th anniversary of M. Yu. Lermontov.

The center of the celebration is "The House of Lermontov". This is the only monument in Russia associated with the name of M. Yu. Lermontov that has been preserved in its original form. Mikhail Yurievich has lived in it from May to July 1841, here his last verses were put down, from the house he was seen to last journey after the duel. In 1912 the museum "The House of Lermontov" was opened at the place.
