Kabardian poet and novelist Alim Keshokov (1914-2001) was born in the village of Shalushka, nowadays located at the territory of Cheghem area of the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria. A. Keshokov is the author of dozens of poetry books, plays, poems, verses for children. His poetry has played a great role in the development of Kabardian poetry, love and pastoral lyrics, dramatic poem.
