Siberian cultural and tourism forum opened in Barnaul
Siberian cultural and tourism forum has begun its work in Barnaul - the first event of the kind that is held in the capital of Altay region. For three days, experts from Russia and neighbouring countries at forum locations will be discussing the most urgent issues of tourism development in the region - RIA "Novosti" reports.
The issues of state policy implementation in the field of tourism, involvement of cultural heritage sites into tourism activities, particularly important for Altay region issue of trans-border cooperation with Kazakhstan, children tourism and other matters will become themes of plenary sessions and roundtables. In addition, the presentation of some significant investment projects implemented, among other, via federal program is planned.
By the end of 2013, as Deputy Governor of Altay region Mikhail Shchetinin has stated at the forum, the region would welcome 1.6 million tourists.
"The principal decision is adopted by the governor of Altay region on the opening of Hospitality Academy. Already we have some agreements with Rosturizm . We will train lower and middle level employees for the resorts of Altay. And for everybody who would like ti study with us" - said the official concerning future plans. Deputy governor has noted that despite the shortage of teachers only domestic teachers and specialists will be called.
