The International Festival of the Arctic Region countries Art-Arctic was held in Salekhard - the only town on the Arctic Circle. The event has started with the original show performance Tambourine in which ethnic motifs, original circus tricks and modern dance rhythms have intertwined.

The finale of the International competition of performes has become the main activity at the festival. For participation in the competition 163 entries from 21 cities of five circumpolar countries were received. By jury judgement, 11 contestants from the northern regions of Russia, Norway, Denmark and Finland have got into the final. Among the finalists Yamal was represented by Salekhard performer Nadezhda Serotetto. The results of the competition have brought her the award of Audience Choice.

Alexander Elovskikh from Yekaterinburg has become the overall winner of the Festival.

During the festival in Salekhard the guests and participants have got acquainted with traditional and modern culture of people from northern nations of the world, visited the natural and ethnographic complex Gornoknyazevsk and paid a visit to the photo exhibition of Sergey Anisimov "The Magic World of Arctic".

Art-Arctic festival is an important cultural event not only for Yamal-Nenets Autonomous district  but for all Russia as well as the countries of Arctic Region.
