Martial Arts Festival will take place in “Ethnomir” in Kaluga
The monks of the famous ShaolinTemple will teach visitors of Martial Arts Festival that opens on Friday in Kaluga region how to fight and meditate, organizers say.
The Festival will be held on October 25-27 in the cultural and educational center "Ethnomir".
The monks of Chinese Shaolin temple will be the Festival special guests. Those are usen (principal mentor) Shi Enao - one of three official representatives of Shaolin temple abroad, and master Shi Yanlin – the head of the medical bureau of Shaolin: he travels around the world and presents the traditional medicine of the temple.
"Together they will perform seminars on shaolin-quan, teach visitors the art of meditation. Also, they will deliver lectures on Shaolin medicine, tell about their way of life and dispel stereotypes and myths about it", - the statement says.
In addition to the delegation from China, the representatives of more than 25 schools and styles of martial arts from all over the world will come to the festival: Shaolin-quan, Aikido, philippine martial systems, capoeira, qigong, ninjutsu, karate, jiu- jitsu, ushu and others.
At the territory of "Ethnomir" six sites will be organized where full-fledged training will take place for all who would wish. Guests could test themselves in each of the presented arts.
"Apart for training, our guests could speak with masters of the schools and take part in discussions on the place and importance of martial arts nowadays" - the organizers say.
