The Giant Glass-Holder to Be Erected in the Village of Kazakovo
The unique monument to glass-holder will be erected on June 28 in the village of Kazakovo in Nizhny Novgorod region.
The event is timed with the 75-th anniversary of the beginning of the filigree enterprise. Filigree (or "skany" from the old Russian word "skaty" – “to twist”) is a type of decorative processing of metal that creates an openwork or soldered one on metal background pattern from thin wire.
Filigree glass-holder was the first product manufactured by women workers of Kazakovo metal cooperative in 1939. It became the prototype for the special glass-holder of one meter high created by masters of Pavlovsk college of folk artistic crafts.
The monument will be erected at the plant territory.
