On September 19 in the city of Derbent, in the building of Lezginka theater, the opening of the I International festival of cross-national culture "The Consonance" has taken place.

On September 21 in the city of Makhachkala at summer site of Dagestan State Philarmonic the gala concert of the festival was held.

The event organizer is the autonomous non-profit organization in the field of creative culture "T-Alliance" with the support of the Ministry of culture of Russia.

The idea of the organizer – the Director of ANO "T-Alliance" Karen Mkrtychan – is to unite cultures of the world at one stage and demonstrate their mutual influence.

The spectators have greeted with applause the ensemble "Dudukner" from Yerevan (Armenia), the ballet troupe of the State musical theatre of Kabardino-Balkaria, the folk amateur team, the orchestra of Russian folk instruments from the House of Culture "The Radium" from Yaroslavl, the folklore ensemble "Poverye" from Moscow.

The show group "Afro-rumba" from Côte d'Ivoire and the orchestra of pipers «City pipes» from Moscow have performed at the festival, too.

Dagestan at the festival of world cultures was represented by the State orchestra of folk instruments conducted by the honoured figure of arts of the Republic of Dagestan Novruz Shakhbazov, the string quartet "Elegance", the State academic honoured ensemble of dances of the people of Dagestan "Lezginka", the State choreographic ensemble of the dances of Caucasian people "The Youth of Dagestan".
