Pushkin Festival will be held in Pskov
The XXI Pushkin Theatre Festival in Pskov in February 2014 will take place having international status. The first performance at the stage of the reconstructed Pskov Drama Theatre will be presented by Pskov troupe, said Vasily Senin, the theatre artistic director, at a press conference.
The spokeperson has noted that the first performance at the festival will be presented by the troupe of Pskov Academic Drama Theater named after Pushkin – it will be the musical version of Pushkin's Count Nulin.
Yet, the play Eugene Onegin by director Yury Lyubimov that will be staged by Moscow Taganka Theater will become the actual opening of the festival, according to Senin.
The performance based on the same masterpiece will be offered by Novosibirsk Theatre Red Torch during the festival, too. It will be produced by the young director Timothey Kulyabin.
The festival programme features performance of puppet theater, performance by AXE theatre, play in English with subtitles and show tributed to Anton Kuznetsov.
Open movie shows and exhibitions, lectures and seminars will take place within the frame of the event in the new hall "Tsekh”. Among participants of lectures playwright Boris Goller, poet and translator Olga Sedakov, theater critic Pavel Rudnev and others will be.
