Moscow International Festival of Museums "Intermuseum 2014” has ended in Moscow.

In the competition for main prize of the festival 15 museums from all over Russia have come to the final round.

Grand Prix was won by the State Historical Museum – reports the press service of Russian Ministry of culture.

The State Rostov and Yaroslavl architectural-art museum-reserve has become the winner in "A museum in information space" nomination.

The State military-historical and natural museum-reserve "Kulikovo Field" was named as the winner in the category "Museum – the regional center of attraction".

In the nomination "Museum medium – the art of creation" the award was presented to the State Tretyakov Gallery. Egoryevsky history and art museum has become the winner in the category "Museums’ funds – to preserve and show".

The award "For the use of information technology in social activity" was given to the State museum of the history of religion.

The museums of Moscow Kremlin were marked "For the original developments in the field of communication".

The State museum of fine arts named after A.S. Pushkin was awarded "For children's educational programmes".

The festival "Intermuseum" organized since 1999 is one of the most important events of the Year of Culture in Russian Federation and socially significant event in the museum world.

Within the festival framework presentations of Russian museums, museums of neighbouring countries and far-away ones as well as seminars, lectures, discussions and roundtables concerning the best practices of cultural tourism in Russia take place.

Experts from the UK, USA, Germany and Russia have discussed social requests in respect of museums, the role of charitable organizations in the creation of museum community, digital strategies and new ideas for museums as well as ways to effectively present collections.
