The Activities Dedicated to the 200-th Anniversary of M. Lermontov Took Place in Penza and Tarkhany
The 43-rd All-Russia Lermontov poetry celebration took place on Saturday, July 5, in the museum-reserve "Tarkhany" in Belinsky area of Penza region.
This year the celebration was dedicated to the memorable date – the 200-th anniversary of M. Yu. Lermontov.
The governor of Penza region Vasily Bochkarev has opened the event saying: "Tarkhany was the special place for Lermontov, here he spent his childhood, this land offered the sources of his creativity. We cherish all that is associated with the life and works of Mikhail Yurievich, the museum-reserve is the evidence of that. In the museum constantly there are exhibitions, its funds are growing with new exhibits, the traditions of Lermontov time are carefully revived".
Deputy Minister of culture of Russia Elena Milovzorova has praised that special attracting atmosphere that the museum "Tarkhany" creates, she expressed her appreciation to all personnel of the museum and its director Tamara Melnikova.
After solemn speech the Governor and the Deputy Minister of culture of Russian Federation has awarded laureates with diplomas named after M.Yu. Lermontov.
The celebration was continued by the performances of artists and concert programme, people’s artists of Russia Sergey Bezrukov and Aristarch Livanov were among those who took part in it.
On the eve of the celebration, on July 4, at the Great Hall of the new Penza Philharmonic literary and musical event was held that was dedicated to the 200-th anniversary of M.Yu. Lermontov.
Some 800 people have come to listen to poems and musical compositions based on verses by the great poet.
