The First International Theatre Universiade Starts in St. Petersburg
The solemn opening of the first International Theater Universiade will be held on May 26 in Alexandrinsky theater, according to the Committee for culture of St. Petersburg.
The start of the relay "Theatre Torch" will be given by the Universiade President Valery Fokin.
The participants will carry the "Theatre Torch" by the central streets of St. Petersburg. "The Fire Bowl" will be burning throughout the Universiade.
To St. Petersburg students of seven leading theater schools – of Holland, South Korea, China, Romania, Hungary, Scotland and France – will arrive.
Russia will be presented by Russian University of theater arts – GITIS (Moscow), Voronezh State Academy of Arts, St. Petersburg Theatre Arts Academy, St. Petersburg State University of Culture and Arts and St. Petersburg State University of Cinema and Television.
Universiade will be held at the stage of Theatre-Festival "Baltic House", Aleksandrinsky theater, the Bolshoi theatre of Puppets and Training theatre at Mokhovaya.
On May 26 and 27, in Alexander Park outdoor cinema house will operate. Daily, within the frames of Universiade, master classes and discussions will take place. The event participants and spectators will meet with renowned directors of Roman Viktyuk European theater – Kama Ginkas, Kirill Serebrennikov, Andrey Moguchy, Valery Fokin, Silviu Purkarete, Luc Perceval.
On May 31 the vent closing ceremony will take place.
