In the district center of Kuria of Altai region on November 15, 2013, the opening of the Memorial museum of Mikhail Timofeevich Kalashnikov has taken place.

The museum is created as the branch of Altai State local history museum and is housed in a renovated school where the future designer was studing.

The exposition incorporates more than 2500 exhibits. The exhibition consists of sections as foolows: "Altai guy", "Man-Machine-gun", "Man-legend" and "Design Bureau of the XXI century".
