The Republic of Sakha invites everyone interested from 16 to 22 September to take part in one of the main local tourist events - Yakutia Diamond Week.
Participants of an exciting tour will see how diamonds are extracted and processed from sorting them out and transforming natural diamond into a sparkling one – the central element of jewelery.
High-quality diamonds are the hall mark of Yakutia. Diamonds are the unique natural phenomenon and one of the main resources of the northern Republic.
Diamond Week starts with a visit to OJSC “Alrosa” in the city of Mirny - one of the largest companies in the world producing diamonds. The  tour is completed by the programme specially prepared by the largest Yakut jewelry enterprises in the capital of the Republic - the city of Yakutsk .
The tourist Diamond Way starts from Mirny not by chance: the city has all the rights to be considered the diamond capital of Yakutia. Here the participants will be able to see the entire process of transormation of natural diamond into the shining one from start to the end and become proud owners of the treasure. In Mirny the Diamond Week tourists will visit the diamond crater "Mir" with an excursion to kimberlite pipe itself. It is one of the largest pit in the world. Afterwards the excursions to the museum of History and production of “Alrosa” is  organized, as well as to its sorting Center and the Museum of kimberlites .
The program will continue in Yakutsk. Sightseeing tour includes visit to the exhibition "The Treasury of the Republic of Sakha", tourist complex "The Kingdom of Permafrost" and diamond enterprise. An auction of diamond raw will be held in the capital of the region as well.
In "The Treasury of Yakutia” tourists will get acquainted with the variety of mineral resources of the Republic and the exclusive collection of natural and processed diamonds.

In “The Kingdom of Permafrost” that represents an icy gallery in a huge permafrost glacier, the tourists will visit the throne hall of the Lord of the Cold - Chyskhaan, then the Residence of All-Russia Father Frost, Diamond room, the halls of ice sculptures’ festivals "Ice Age" and real ice bar.
At diamond enterprise the tour participants will become familiar with the production of diamond-cutting factory. Besides, they will visit "Diamond opening day”, said the Ministry of Federal and External Relations of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
