The current Myshkin Festival "Samohod" was the fifteenth in row. At the same time it was the first one that lasted for three days – the guests of the festival were welcome by country-side  Paintball base. And the second one which number of participants has exceeded one hundred.
The festival was opened by Anatoly Kuritsyn, the head of Myshkin Municipal District, who has noted that at the festival alongside with regular veteran participants the considerable number of novices were present, too.

The festival was sponsored by Tourism Agency of Yaroslavl Region, Administration of Myshkinsky District, NChUK “Myshkin National Museum” as well as by LCC "Matter of  Technics" (Moscow), personally by the president of the charity fund "Shukhov tower" Vladimir Shukhov (the great-grandson of the great engineer) and Myshkin shop "Auto Spareparts".

The most memorable participant was, by all means, Anton Efanov who has arrived from the town of Ivanovo by ancient motorcycle DKV manufactured yet in 1936.

The ranks of "Samokhod" were joined by two new clubs: Auto Retro Club VAZ 2101 Moscow and Auto Club VAZ 2101 Piter. Both members of the “kopeeika automobile” clubs from Moscow and St. Petersburg have attached to the windows of their “metal horses” the leaflets briefly outlining their history. One of them has the mileage over one hundred thousand kilometers while the other was three times stolen, etc.

Many festival visitors – at Uspensky square hundreds of them have gathered, if not thousands of people – have wished organizers that similar curriculum vitae (biographies) will be provided by all participants - what a fascinating vehicle novel could come from such pages put down by seemingly non-professional writers

There are quite a few museums of retro technics and its parades in various cities and towns, yet  Myshkin Festival by its local flavour can not be confused with any other. The reason for that, as Nikolay Lushin, the president of Myshkin club-museum of retro technics "The Crew", considers, is, first, that the antique cars and motorcycles have much more natural appearance within the "interior" of historical town with population of only 6000 people than in glass and concrete “jungles” of big cities. Second, a large part of the "interior" is presented by the monuments of technical antiquity - from old wooden windmill to weather-beaten boat for travelling along the river Volga.
A lot of participants – a lot of prizes. The Cup of the Governor of Yaroslavl region (the official status of the Governor event was vested on “Samokhod” since last year) was awarded to the above mentioned Anton Efanov. The Cup of the Head of Myshkins municipal district was given to  Evgeny Kondratiev from the city of Tver for the excellent preservation of the original shape of the car VAZ 2101 of 1975 year model. The Cup of Head of the city of Myshkin was awarded to the automobile fans from St. Petersburg for determined actions and testing techniques in “battle” conditions since they were on a big tour around Russia and Mishkin was only stop-over point within their journey.
The Cup of the club-museum of retro technics "The Crew" was presented to Sergey Sakharov  and its "Zaporozhets" car from Yaroslavl. "Zaporozhets" is the vehicle that is rapidly disappearing from the roads, yet the demonstrated sample was in excellent condition.
The Cup of the veterans of the festival movement was awarded  to Vitaly Pugachev from the town of Rybinsk. He has brought to the festival ... the engine that exists in Russia only in three copies - NAMI-1 of 1929-30 period. The special prize "Retrowonder" was given to the muscovite Yevgeny Andreev for his "Ford" of 1971 release – that is the real sofa on wheels.
