The contest 2014 of young artists of the Central Federal District "The Matter of Memory" is a large-scale project in the field of contemporary art called to support gifted young people aged 14 to 18 years learning artistic creation.

Moscow Museum of Modern Art, Russian Academy of Arts, Scientfic and Research Institute of Russian Academy of Arts, the Public Chamber of the Central Federal District, the Office of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of Russian Federation in the Central Federal District take part in preparation and carrying out of the competition.

The purpose of the project, on the one hand, is to make such an important and up-to-date theme as the historical memory of interest to young painters, while, on the other hand, to involve them into contemporary artistic process.

The competition is themed "The Matter of Memory" and dedicated to the centenary of the First World War.

The competition period: July – December 2014
