The Regatta of Kizhi will become the international festival of water kinds of tourism, said the official portal of the governmental bodies of Karelia .
The State Committee for Tourism together with the museum-reserve Kizhi has taken part in proposal call for promotion of regional tourist product.
Among 500 proposal calls the republican event The Regatta of Kizhi has won, this year the regatta will be held in a new format – as the first international festival of water kinds of tourism, said the chairman of the Republican State Committee for Tourism Valery Kiryanov.
The festival will take place from July 31 to August 3. It is expected that representatives of Scandinavia and neighboring countries will become the participants of the festival.
It is stressed in the report that for the first time the Republican level event will receive federal support in the amount of 1.5 million rubles. In addition, the familiarization trip for leading tour operators and press-tour for Russian media will be organized in time of the festival.
