More Than a Thousand Events will Take Place in Moscow on the City Day

The solemn opening ceremony of the City Day celebration will be held on September 6, at 12.00 on the Red Square.

The spectators will see the colourful show that will tell about the iconic projects implemented in the past year.

At 13.00 on all platforms the hymn of Moscow will sound.

By tradition, on the City Day Tverskaya Street turns into the pedestrian one. Picnic lawns will be set on it, various art objects and shopping arcades will be installed.

On September 6 and 7 celebration concerts will be held to include the procession of orchestras participating in the festival "Spasskaya Tower".

"The Table as Long as the Boulevard" will be set along the entire Boulevard Ring.

To each boulevard during the celebration its own theme will be attributed: Gogolevsky will turn into the artistic one, Nikitinsky – in the book boulevard, Strastnoy will become a retro one and Chistoprudny will be devoted to children.

Poklonnaya Hill will be transformed to the stage for an eight hours long concert.

For the first time as part of the City Day the festival "Kind Moscow" will be held that will be attended by some 40 charity funds.

On the City Day the festivity sites will be organized at all pedestrian streets in the historic center of the capital. For example, at Arbat street pedestrians will see the poetic site and free microphone, at Pyatnitskaya street everyone who likes to sing in choir can take part in vocal flashmob, along Nikolskaya street pianos will be set.

Special programmes are prepared in the city large parks.

On September 6 and 7, 67 museums of Moscow will operate free of charge.

As part of the citywide excursion day over 170 free walking and biking tours around the historical places of the city will be organized.

The festival will be crowned by salutes at 20 sites.
