Dozens of interesting events will take place during the City Day in the capital
In Moscow the City Day is the most widespread and spectacular event, it includes carnival processions and more than two hundred concert venues. This year the festival will be held on September 7 and crowned by grand celebratory fireworks.
Among the events this year there are sports competitions, activities, Moscow "Broadway" with presentations of famous musicals, carnival processions, street art festival at VDNKh exhibition territory and open air art festival "Boulevard of Arts".
By tradition, one of the main events of the celebration always is the bright opening ceremony. This year it will, as usual, be held at Red Square. The ceremony will start at noon and last for an hour. Residents and guests of the capital will be welcome by the officials of the city.
All day Muscovites will be greeted on Sakharov Avenue - there the final chord of the festival "The best city in the world" will be performed that all summer long was gathering a variety of performing groups and arranging breathtaking shows.
By Tverskay street at that day an unusual procession will march – the participants of "Spasskaya Tower" festival. That is the annual festival that brings together the most interesting military bands from around the world .
At the same time carnival procession will go from Yauza gate to Sakharov square.
The guests of Boulevard Ring will be greeted by grand programme under the intriguing title "The boulevard long table".
Tsvetnoy boulevard will be devoted to the fans of circus - here one could see all kinds of performances that will delight both grown-ups and children.
The unusual journey at "The Ship of Tolerance" expects the visitors of GorkyPark.
Poklonnaya Hill will be dancing – everyone is invited to the nostalgic concert "Music of the 80-s".
Cosmonauts Alley will be the venue for the festival "Around the World". Throughout Moscow the sites for celebration concerts of "Music of the city coasts" series will flourish.
At Kuznetsky bridge for two days the festive mood will reign, too, – here the huge fair will be set. At noon on September, 7, two more notable events will start: demonstration of movies by "Moscow Cinema" network and the celebration of the capital press which centre will be at Suvorov Square.
Revolution Square for all two days of festivities will become the place for Intel road show.
In addition, in the City Day all followers of sacred music and choral singing will be presented by the festival “The forty of forties” that will bring together church choirs from all over Russia.
The final chord of the celebration will be fireworks that heyday the sky over Moscow on September 7 at 21:45. Fireworks will paint the sky for as long as 15 minutes.
