The Monument to Peter and Fevronia of Murom Unveiled in Angarsk
On August 1 the Governor of Irkutsk region Sergey Eroschenko and the aide of the president of Russia Igor Levitin took part in the ceremony of the monument opening.
Angarsk has become the 21-st city in Russia where, within the framework of the national programme "In Family circle", the monumental image of saint right-believing princes, patrons of love and family Peter and Fevronia of Murom has been installed.
Sculptural composition is set nearby Holy Trinity Cathedral where in the next three years the park of family is planned to be created. In 2015, at the site where the sculpture is set up, the improvement of the territory for the future park of honeymooners will begin.
“I am sure, the place is going to be the favourite location for contemplation and relaxation both among believers and lovers. To the monument not only young couple would come but those who happily live in mariage for long time, too. Kids will walk around and parents will tell them about saint right-believing princes and the importance and value of family relations” - said the head of the region.

The national programme "In Family circle" was created with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexy II and with the participation of representatives of the government of Russian Federation in 2004 according to the recommendations of Church Public Forum "The spiritual and moral foundations of Russia demographic development".
The mission of the national programme "In Family circle" consists in creation of the state ideology aimed to revive family in Russia, form positive image of the full-fledged multi-children family.
