On Friday, August 1, the Museum of the World Ocean in Kaliningrad opens the Naval Center "The water cube". That is going to be the first construction of the museum complex that is built under the federal target program "The Culture of Russia". It comprises: a pavilion with an exhibition hall, a café, a ward-room, submarine B-413, open territory with an exhibition of naval equipment. The Naval Center makes visitors familiar with the history of the Navy telling the fascinating story of great victories and great geographical discoveries by Russian military sailors.

From August 1, in the new museum building the exhibition "The World War I. The war at sea" will be presented. Alongside with the multi-million armies in the World War I major forces of opposing fleets took part, totaling over 3000 ships.

The battles were fought in the Atlantic and Indian Oceans, at White, Barents, Baltic, Mediterranean and other seas.

The collected materials tell about the fate of Russian sailors who participated in naval battles.

At the exhibition one may see pictures, samples of weapons, books, postcards, household items, decorations, medals, badges and much more – the real "live" witnesses of those events.

The exhibition clearly shows the whole layer of Russian history, about which it was talked quite little. The main objective of the exhibition is to show the futility of war, remind people that the most valuable thing is the peace.

Simultaneously with the exhibition opening the museum launches the action "The White Boat" that aims to unite all those who oppose military actions and call for peace on Earth.

The guests of the Museum of the World Ocean may receive a little white paper ship – a symbol of peace – or make it themselves.

The action will have national and international nature.
