Kolomenskoye to Host the Festival "The Russian Field"
On June 23 in ITAR-TASS the press conference was held dedicated to the III International Festival of slavic art "The Russian Field", its organizer is the Department of inter-regional cooperation, national policy and relations with religious organizations of the Government of Moscow with the support of fraternities of participating regions and the fund of Basil the Great.
The festival will take place on July 5 in Moscow at the territory of Moscow State united museum-reserve "Kolomenskoye".
In the main open-air of Russian capital up to 100 000 people could take part. This year the festival is dedicated to the 700-th anniversary since the birth of St. Sergius of Radonezh.
"The song programme of the festival "The Russian Field" will be unprecedently diverse, - says the deputy head of the department of interregional cooperation, national policy and relations with religious organizations Yuri Nuzhdin. – We will go all the way from "Our Father" to the most famous folk songs about the love for Russia. The performance of men, military and Cossack choirs will become the separate storyline of the festival "The Russian Field 2014". More than a thousand people from 19 regions of Russia - from Nizhny Novgorod to Russian North – will participate in the main programme”.
The fair of arts and crafts will operate at the festival. Mikhailovskoye and Belevskoye lace, Kadomsky veniz (fairy-tale decorative design), Skopinsk and Tula ceramics, Oryol spis (embroidery), Permogorsk painting as well as Kovrov, Petrov, Romanov and Baban toys will be offered.
Creative workshops will operate where one may learn blacksmith and pottery skills, how to weave with bast, make a broom, sew toys from patches. At the sites of traditional Russian games and funs competitions and contests will take place, special animated sites will welcome children.
At the site "Russian Cuisine" the festival of okroshka (cold kvass soup with chopped vegetables) will be held.
One of the most spectacular site will be "The Cossack frontiers of Russia".
The construction of exact replica of the wooden church of St. Andrew in just one day will become the event highlight. The church will be bult with no single nail, using ancient tools.
