The Military Historical Festival "Battle at Molody"

Battle at Molody is the major battle that took place between July 29 and August 2, 1572, some 50 kilometers to the south of Moscow. In that battle Russian troops under the command of Prince Michael Vorotynsky were opposed by the army of Crimean Khan Devlet Giray.

Despite more than two-fold superiority in number, 120 thousand Crimean army was put to flight and almost completely destroyed. By its importance the battle at Molody is comparable to the battle at Kulikovo field and other key battles in Russian history.

The festival offers everyone the opportunity to spend a weekend in the fresh air and get intellectually rich: to see the historic reconstruction of the battle, participate in contests, listen to good Russian songs and watch performances by popular folk groups.
