The Festival of the Historical Reconstruction "Varangian Street"
In 2012 and 2013 near the city of Asbest in Sverdlovsk region, a series of the festivals of historical reenactments dedicated to the early Middle Ages in the period of the IX-XI centuries was held.
In two years “Varangian Street” has attracted some 11,000 visitors and tourists from Sverdlovsk region and the neighbouring regions.
In 2013, the event has received the international status: it was attended by guests from Kazakhstan and Belarus.
This year the participants from further foreign countries Sweden, Germany and Poland are invited.
The festival guests will be able to see firsthand the military combats and lives of people of the early Middle Ages, listen to performances of folk groups and take part in the entertainments held at interactive sites.
