The XVIII District Festival of Creativity of Indigenous People of the North "Stork over Amur"
The festival is held with the aim to preserve and develop traditional culture, historical and cultural heritage of the indigenous small-numbered people of the North of Khabarovsk region. This year the festival is dedicated to the 55-th anniversary of the village of Ommi in Amur area.
The festival nominations include: contest of national cuisine, contest of national house, competition concert programme, exhibition-contest of items of decorative and applied arts, contest-defile of national costumes.
The sporting events include: throwing of weights, long jump with a pole, tug of war.
The basis of concert programmes is made by the best examples of music, song, oral, poetic, instrumental, dance and rite folklore.
The repertoire of the festival participants incorporates the pieces of folklore of indigenous small-numbered people of the North in all genres: dance, song, fairy-tales, stories, narration, legends, rites, folk theatrical performances and others. The participants’ costumes represent traditional national clothes or their stage versions.
