The III International Festival of Living History "Volga Way"
The festival of living history "Volga Way" is devoted to the reconstruction of the historic appearance and culture of the people of Eastern Europe of the X–XIII centuries. The emphasis will be made on the events presented in "living history" format, the reconstruction of the production processes and the organization of scientists’ (archaeologists and experimenters) interaction with the lovers of historical reconstruction.
On July 9 the conference "The Historical and cultural heritage of the people of Russia as the resource for the development of domestic and inbound tourism" and promotion action – animated show in the historical format – will be organized.
The cultural programme of the festival is going to take place in archeopark "Mezdurechye" on July 12-13.
The programme includes:
- The grand opening with troop parade of knights
- Tournament fights
- Massive battles
- Equestrian competitions
- Contest of medieval costume
- Competition of archers
- Contest of medieval cuisine
- Concerts
- Operation of craftsmen sites
- Master classes on medieval crafts
- The award ceremony and closing ceremony.
More than 150 followers of historical reconstruction from Russia, Ukraine and Belarus as well as 50 historical artisans will become participants of show costumed performances.
