The Open Inter-regional Festival of Cossack Creativity and Culture "Cossack Razgulay on Khoper"

8 - 9 august, 2015, Saratov region


The festival is held since 2012 in the tourist village Nikolyevka in Balashov district of Saratov region.

The festival is organized to promote and make popular the historical and cultural traditions of Prikhopersk Cossacks and Russian Cossacks in general as well as to provide spiritual, moral, civic and patriotic education for children and youth.

The annual festival is a major cultural event in the region. Its main objectives include: the preservation of Cossack traditions, the development of inter-regional cultural cooperation; nourishing respect for unique cultural traditions of the people of Russia in younger generation.

In 2013 the festival was attended by 9 artistic teams from three regions: Voronezh, Volgograd and Saratov region. All in all more than 150 people.

Within the framework of the festival the operation of Cossack fairs, theatrical performance, show performances of Cossacks using cavalry swords and gala concerts of creative Cossack groups are planned.
